Netflix has moved into the gaming field. The streaming giant has delivered the Netflix Game control application, flagging its expectation to enable users to play games around on their TVs.
This venture expands upon Netflix’s previous introduction to cloud gaming, which started in 2021 with a focus on mobile devices. With this most recent move, Netflix expects to give a consistent gaming experience on the big screen, while at the same time expanding its contributions.

The recently launched Netflix Game Controller application serves as a virtual gamepad, intended to facilitate gameplay of Netflix games on TV.
Currently available on the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads, an Android version is anticipated to be rolled out soon. This application functions as a bridge between the user’s mobile device and their TV, enabling them to control and engage with games through their smartphone.
The Netflix Game controller application is viable with devices running iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 and later versions. Upon installation, the app pairs with the user’s TV, granting them the ability to play Netflix games using their mobile device.
The controller layout includes a virtual thumbstick on the left and four multicolored action buttons on the right. The buttons are labeled in the familiar XYAB configuration, reminiscent of Xbox and Nintendo Switch controllers.

After launching the Netflix Game controller application, clients are directed to select a game via their television screen. The app then provides instructions for connecting the controller to the chosen game. At this point, the application seems to be in a beta phase, as indicated by a message within the app.
