Xiaomi has introduced its first clamshell foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip. Launched alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and the Redmi K70 Ultra in China on July 19, 2024.

Display
The Xiaomi Mix Flip features a 6.86-inch flexible AMOLED main screen with a resolution of 2,912 x 1,224 pixels. This display supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Additionally, it has a peak brightness level of 3,000 nits. Complementing the main screen is a 4.01-inch flexible AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 1,392 x 1,280 pixels.
Like the main display it also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision enhancing the viewing experience with rich colors and deep contrasts.
The phone’s design includes a plastic front (when unfolded), a glass front (when folded), a glass back and an aluminum frame with a stainless steel hinge for durability. The Xiaomi Shield Glass protection ensures resistance against scratches and drops.
Performance
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with the Adreno 750 GPU. This powerful combination delivers high performance capable of handling demanding tasks and high-end gaming with ease.
Xiaomi MIX Flip providess up to 16GB of LPPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. It runs on the Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS, a user-friendly interface with enhanced features and customization options.
Camera
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is equipped with a dual rear camera setup featuring Leica-backed sensors. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 sensor.
The secondary sensor is a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV60A40 sensor paired with a telephoto lens offering up to 2x optical zoom. Front Camera for selfies and video calls, the device houses a 32-megapixel OV32B sensor.
Battery
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by a 4,780mAh battery, which supports long hours of usage on a single charge. It supports 67W wired fast charging allowing users to quickly recharge their device and minimize downtime. The device is equipped with a 4780mAh battery.
Xiaomi MIX Flip supports 67W fast charging. Xiaomi’s Surge battery technology featuring 6% silicon content in the negative electrode, enhances battery longevity, maintaining 80% capacity after 1600 cycles.

Additional Features
Xiaomi MIX Flip supports dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) and various network technologies including GSM, CDMA, HSPA, CDMA2000, LTE, and 5G.
Xiaomi MIX Flip features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6/7, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and an infrared port. The phone is equipped with stereo speakers and supports 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Res audio both wired and wireless.
Xiaomi MIX Flip includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass and barometer. Xiaomi has restructured the outer display to function as a compact phone.
Xiaomi MIX Flip supports auto-rotation for both left and right-hand users and includes a display gesture system. The outer screen can handle over 200 popular applications.
Xiaomi MIX Flip features a redesigned 3D cooling system with a large 3500mm² vapor chamber (VC) area. The innovative staircase design rapidly dissipates heat from the SoC. Xiaomi’s SU7 aerogel thermal insulation material is used to block heat transfer to the display.
The middle frame is made from 6M42 aluminum alloy and the device is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass and UTG ultra-thin flexible glass.
The dual-link hinge mechanism is crafted from high-strength materials and it is certified for 500,000 folds and unfolds by SGS.

The device is available in black, purple, and white. Additionally, there is a special Phoenix Feather Fiber Edition for the 512GB variant.
Ring-shaped protective case is 129 yuan, the Xiaomi MIX Flip portable camera set is 499 yuan.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to be launched in select international markets including the European Union and East and Southeast Asia.
According to leaks, the Mix Flip is expected to be priced around $999, which is approximately $100 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The lower price point is attributed to the absence of wireless charging and the use of a conventional USB 2.0 port.
Internationally, the device will be available in black and rose gold differing slightly from the colors offered in China.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip will be available for purchase in China starting July 23, 2024 at 10 am local time (7:30 am IST). It is currently open for pre-sale bookings on the Xiaomi China website.
