Inspector Amy Scott, a lone senior police officer, confronted the assailant and neutralized the threat, saving countless lives.

Additionally, witnesses recounted stories of ordinary citizens, including a young man wielding a shopping centre bollard and shopkeepers providing shelter to frightened shoppers.

The tragedy had an outpouring of support from both national and international leaders. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed solidarity with the victims and praised the bravery exhibited by Inspector Scott and ordinary Australians.

Efforts to provide assistance and comfort to the affected families, particularly those with no relatives in Australia.

Australian leaders, including Prime Minister Albanese, have expressed solidarity with the victims and their families. Messages of support have also been received from global leaders.
