Elon Musk confirmed he has a third child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. This child follows twins born to the couple in 2021. The confirmation came in response to a Bloomberg report, which Musk addressed, stating that the child was not a secret to those close to him.

Elon Musk has a total of 11 children who are publicly acknowledged. This includes five children with his first wife, author Justine Musk, three with the musician Grimes and now three with Zilis.
Elon Musk and Zilis filed a petition to change the twins’ names to include Musk’s last name while incorporating Zilis’s last name as part of their middle name.
Elon Musk has often expressed concern over declining birth rates, viewing it as a threat to human civilization. He argues that higher reproduction rates among individuals with high IQs are essential for the future of humanity.
Elon Musk’s views align with those of other tech industry leaders who advocate for increased reproduction among the intellectual elite.
This belief comes from the idea that enhancing genetic potential through procreation can help address population decline and maintain societal progress.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Musk’s “boundary-blurring” relationships with female employees at his companies.
This includes allegations of him asking a SpaceX employee to have his children, which she declined. This employee, who left SpaceX and received a exit package, suggested that Musk’s behavior may have contributed to a hostile work environment.
Reports also surfaced of Musk being involved in inappropriate relationships with other employees including an intern.
These allegations adds to a series of controversies regarding his interactions with female staff members.
There was an incident where Musk allegedly exposed himself to a flight attendant and offered her a horse in exchange for sexual favors.
Elon Musk and his first wife, Justine Wilson welcomed their first son, Nevada Alexander Musk, in 2002. Nevada passed away at just 10 weeks old from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Elon Musk has rarely spoken publicly about this loss, but in an email exchange with a grieving father in 2018, he shared his deep sorrow stating, “My firstborn son died in my arms. I felt his heartbeat.”

The couple’s first child, X Æ A-Xii, was born in May 2020. Originally named X Æ A-12, the name had to be changed to comply with California’s birth certificate regulations.
The name is pronounced “X Ash A Twelve,” and Musk has credited Grimes with most of the name’s creative elements.
In December 2021, Musk and Grimes welcomed their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, via surrogate. The name is pronounced “Sigh-deer-ee-el,” and she is nicknamed “Y.”
