The 2025 BMW M2 is known for its power, agility and classic BMW driving dynamics and it has received updates for the 2025 model year. With an increased horsepower, new color options and a series of design and technological enhancements.

The 2025 BMW M2 retains its robust 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine. Output has increased to 473 horsepower, up by 20 hp from the previous model.
Torque for the six-speed manual transmission is unchanged at 406 lb-ft. The eight-speed automatic sees a torque boost to 443 lb-ft.
The six-speed manual M2 now accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds, shaving off 0.1 seconds from before. The eight-speed automatic version achieves the same in 3.9 seconds, also 0.1 seconds quicker. The top speed remains limited to 155 mph, extendable to 177 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.

A new bright silver finish wheel joins the existing black and bi-color options, catering to varied stylistic preferences.
Exterior badging now features a black color with a silver border, enhancing the car’s visual appeal. The exhaust tips are now finished in black as standard, a feature that was previously optional.
The 2025 BMW M2 now features a new flat-bottom steering wheel available in leather or Alcantara with an optional heating feature.
A new Black Vernasca leather seat option with red highlights is available, adding to the interior’s aesthetic options. The M Carbon bucket seats remain an option and can now be ordered separately or as part of the Carbon Package.
Minor updates have been made to the center console including new adjustment controls for the air vents. The new M Fine Brushed Aluminum trim is now standard.
The 2025 BMW M2 comes with BMW’s iDrive 8.5, replacing the previous iDrive 8. This update is considered an enhancement for improved usability and new features.
The new Live Cockpit Professional system includes an augmented navigation view, which projects animated directional arrows onto a live video feed from the car’s cameras.
The climate control system is now fully digital, integrated into the touchscreen interface. This change may affect ease of use, as physical controls are often preferred for quick adjustments.

The 2025 BMW M2 offers a six-speed manual transmission as a no-cost option. The eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission is also available.
BMW has fine-tuned the throttle mapping across different drive modes to enhance responsiveness and driving pleasure. The engine’s redline remains capped at 7200 rpm.
The 2025 BMW M2 comes equipped with Style 930M wheels in a Jet Black finish. Customers can choose from a two-tone finish or a new bright silver option for a different aesthetic.
The quad exhaust tips and badges on the grille and trunk lid are now black with a silver contour outlining the badges for a distinctive look.
A redesigned steering wheel features a flat-bottomed rim, a red 12 o’clock marker and updated spokes. It can be optionally wrapped in Alcantara or leather with an option for heating.
The M Carbon bucket seats, previously part of the expensive Carbon package are now available as a standalone option. Standard leather seats can be chosen with black and red accents for a touch of sportiness.
The infotainment system has been upgraded to iDrive 8.5, featuring a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The dashboard layout now addresses digital controls for climate settings, reducing physical buttons and enhancing the modern, clean aesthetic of the interior.
The M2 comes with a three-zone automatic climate control system, a Harman Kardon surround sound system and ambient lighting.
The system supports voice commands for various functions including climate control, allowing for easier and safer operation while driving.
The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides clear and customizable information to the driver. The 14.9-inch touchscreen serves as the control center for navigation, media and vehicle settings.
The starting price for the 2025 BMW M2 is $64,900, a modest increase of $1,700 over the previous model year.
The destination and handling fees are now set at $1,175, up by $180. The total cost including fees comes to $66,075.
Production of the 2025 BMW M2 will begin in August at BMW’s San Luis Potosí factory in Mexico. The updated M2 is expected to hit dealerships shortly after production commences, with a global launch anticipated.
