Southern Switzerland has been hit by flooding and landslides over the weekend resulting in at least four fatalities and one missing person. The affected areas include the Maggia Valley, Ticino and the Valais region.
The northern China provinces, Henan and Shandong are facing drought, while the southern provinces including Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou and Fujian are experiencing heavy rainfall and flooding.
On June 13, 2024, the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim was hit by a series of landslides and flooding due to heavy rainfall, resulting in the loss of at least ten lives and leaving approximately 2,400 tourists stranded. This calamity also extended to Nepal’s Koshi province, where additional fatalities were reported.
