Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Assassinated in Tehran
Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in a predawn airstrike in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The attack occurred at a military veterans’ residence in northern Tehran, where Haniyeh was staying. Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new President, Masoud Pezeshkian alongside other influential regional figures.
