The Ferrari 499P Modificata is the most expensive Ferrari to date, with a price tag of £4.6 million (approximately $5.4 million).

The story of the Ferrari 499P Modificata begins with the triumph of the 499P endurance racer at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking Ferrari’s return to the top tier of endurance racing after a 50-year hiatus.

This victory added another chapter to Ferrari’s illustrious racing history, which includes iconic wins at Le Mans in the 1960s.

Ferrari has made it clear that the Ferrari 499P Modificata is not just another supercar; it’s reserved exclusively for “gentleman drivers.”

These are individuals who are not professional racers but possess a passion for the world of motorsport and high-performance automobiles.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata offers these drivers the opportunity to experience the thrill of piloting a Le Mans-winning prototype, a previously reserved for professional racers.

Ferrari has spared no expense in making the Ferrari 499P Modificata an exclusive project. With each car carrying a price of £4.6 million, excluding VAT, it’s clear that this is a hypercar meant for a very select clientele.

This exclusivity extends beyond the initial purchase; each buyer will have access to the car for two years. During this time, they can participate in nine racing events organized by Ferrari annually.

If a customer desires to use the car on a specific racetrack of their choice, an additional fee will be charged, highlighting the bespoke nature of this offering.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata spearheads Ferrari’s new Sport Prototipi Clienti program, which allows customers to purchase modified versions of Ferrari’s race cars.

While the company hasn’t disclosed details about future Prototipi Clienti models, the 499P Modificata sets the standard for what to expect from this program.

It brings the thrill of racing prototypes closer to passionate enthusiasts, continuing Ferrari’s tradition of combining racing technology with road-legal hypercars.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata is powered by a mid-rear-mounted 3.0-liter hybridized V6 engine and an electric motor. This powertrain, inspired by Formula 1 technology, is at the heart of the car’s performance.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata’s engine has been pushed further, producing a combined 697 horsepower. What makes it truly remarkable is the additional 80 horsepower that can be unleashed for seven seconds at a time. All it takes is the press of a red ‘push to pass’ button located behind the steering wheel.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata’s performance figures are yet to be officially released, but its racing counterpart, the 499P racer, achieved a top speed of 213 mph during testing.

With the added power of the Modificata, it’s expected to match or exceed this figure. The challenge was to ensure that the car’s immense power and performance remain accessible to drivers of varying skill levels.

The engine mapping has been fine-tuned to make torque management even at the car’s limit manageable.

In addition to the V6 engine, the Ferrari 499P Modificata is equipped with an 800V electric motor, derived from Formula 1 technology.

The integration of this electric motor showcases Ferrari’s commitment to sustainable technology while preserving the essence of high-performance driving.

The Ferrari 499P Modificata is built on a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, a hallmark of modern racing technology.

It features F1-inspired push-rod suspension, engineered to maximize driving thrills and ensure predictable behavior in all conditions.

The engine is a structural component of the car’s chassis, increasing torsional rigidity. This results in a harmonious blend of power, agility, and stability, making the 499P Modificata a formidable track companion.

Inside the Ferrari 499P Modificata, you’ll find a purposeful cabin designed for weight savings and performance. The interior features a digital rear camera, fixed bucket seats, an adjustable pedal rack, and a racing steering wheel. Every element is designed to serve a specific function, highlighting the car’s racing pedigree.
