Renault has uncovered the fifth-generation Renault Scenic E-Tech as an all-electric people mover, gladly wearing the E-Tech badge. This electric vehicle (EV) is built on similar CMF-EV platform as the Renault Megane E-Tech and Nissan Ariya, two other European smaller EVs.

  • High Reach Variant: For those looking for additional power and extended range, the High Range Scenic E-Tech comes with a more potent motor producing 160 kW (220 hp) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. It’s equipped with a larger 87 kWh battery pack, enabling an impressive estimated range of over 385 miles (620 km) on the WLTP cycle. DC fast charging is possible at up to 150 kW in this configuration, making it even more convenient for long-distance travel. This version can accelerate to 62 mph in 8.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 mph (170 kph). Additionally, both variants can be charged on AC power at up to 22 kW.

Battery Design

Renault adopts a ground breaking strategy to battery design by making the two packs modular. These batteries are made out of individual modules that can be effortlessly replaced and repaired individually. This approach enhances the longevity of the vehicle and reduces long-term maintenance costs.

Moreover, Renault takes a step towards sustainability by excluding rare earth materials from the electronics, battery, and motor of the new Renault Scenic E-Tech, aligning with the eco-conscious design of the Zoe and Megane E-Tech.
