Tropical Storm Usagi is on track to make landfall in the northern Philippines following four other weather systems within weeks. This pattern of repeated severe weather began with Typhoon Toraji, which arrived shortly after Severe Tropical Storm Trami, Typhoon Yinxing and Super Typhoon Kong-rey.
Usagi, with current wind speeds of 75 km/h is forecasted to strengthen into a typhoon before landfall. Following Usagi, another system, Tropical Storm Man-yi may form and approach the Philippines in the coming days.
