The third-age Peugeot 3008 has finally been unveiled, ushering in a new era for this popular French crossover. The new Peugeot E-3008 imprints a critical shift towards electric powertrains and cutting-edge interior technology, cementing its position as one of Peugeot’s flagship models. The Peugeot E-3008 addresses a great step in the right direction for Peugeot, as it is the first series production model built on the STLA Medium platform developed by Stellantis, the parent company of Peugeot. This groundbreaking platform will serve as the foundation for numerous upcoming electric vehicles from various Stellantis brands.

Three Zero-Emissions Powertrain

This variation flaunts a 400-volt nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) 73-kilowatt-hour (net) battery pack matched with a front-mounted super durable coordinated electric engine, delivering 210 horse power (157 kilowatts) and 253 pound-feet (343 Newton-meters) of torque. It offers an impressive estimated driving range of 326 miles (525 kilometers) on a full charge.

Building on the previous version, this double engine variation holds the 73 kWh battery pack and front engine while adding a 111 hp (83 kW) electric engine on the rear axle. The combined power output reaches 320 hp (240 kW), with the same estimated driving range of 326 miles (525 km).

The long-range form includes a bigger 98 kWh (net) battery pack and a front-mounted electric engine conveying 230 hp (170 kW) and 253 lb-ft (343 Nm) of torque.

This setup offers a surprising maximum range of 435 miles (700 km) on a full charge, making it one of the most impressive electric SUVs in terms of range. Please note that this version does not offer a dual-motor option.

For added flexibility, the Peugeot E-3008 gives various driving modes, including a 4WD mode for the dual-motor variant, which distributes power to all four wheels in slippery conditions, up to speeds of 83 miles per hour (135 kilometers per hour).

Charging and Vehicle-To-Load (V2L)

Charging the Peugeot E-3008 is a breeze, with the charging port strategically placed on the back left curved guard. The vehicle upholds both AC and DC charging options.

For AC charging, the standard installed charger can deal with up to 11 kW from a three-phase source, while an optional 22 kW three-phase unit is also available.

On the DC front, the Peugeot E-3008 can accept up to 160 kW from a viable quick charging station. This empowers the standard battery to be charged from 20% state of charge (SoC) to 80 percent in only 30 minutes. The long-range variant achieves the same charge level in less than 30 minutes due to its different battery technology.

One of the champion highlights of the Peugeot E-3008 is its vehicle-to-load (V2L) usefulness. This allows users to export power from the high-voltage battery through the charging plug, providing up to 3 kW and 16 amps (A) of power for household appliances or other uses.

Additionally, the compact crossover includes a smart charging function called V1G, which collaborates with the owner’s household energy supplier to optimize charging times and reduce charging costs.

To boost the utilization of the accessible battery limit, the Peugeot E-3008 integrates a heat pump instead of a conventional interior heating system. This heat pump ensures efficient climate control and helps extend the vehicle’s range.

Moreover, the Peugeot E-3008 offers three regenerative braking levels, selectable via steering wheel-mounted paddles: Low, Moderate, and Increased. Notably, the last two modes automatically activate the rear brake lights.

While one-pedal driving isn’t explicitly mentioned, the regenerative braking modes provide a high degree of control over regenerative braking force.

Design

The Peugeot E-3008 carries forward Peugeot’s signature design elements while embracing a modern and captivating look.

Measuring 178 inches (454 centimeters) in length, 74 inches (189 cm) in width, and 64 inches (164 cm) in height, the all-electric crossover exhibits the brand’s distinctive three-clawed light signature at the front and rear.

The closed-off grille features an enlarged logo, and the headlights, nestled between the hood and frameless grille, enhance the vehicle’s visual appeal.

The Peugeot E-3008 comes standard with LED lights highlighting Peugeot’s Pixel LED innovation, which gives versatile lighting to further developed perceivability in different driving circumstances.

The vehicle offers six paint choices, with the highlight being the color-shifting Obsession Blue, which transitions from blue to green depending on lighting and viewing angles. Other available colors include Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Pearl Black, Artense Gray, and Titanium Gray.

Interior

However, it’s worth noting that not all trim levels feature this single slab of screen real estate. The Allure trim offers a slightly different configuration with two 10-inch screens integrated into a single support.

Below the central screen, which would typically be referred to as the central console in a conventional vehicle, you’ll find the i-Toggles. These are fully customizable virtual and touch-sensitive buttons that add a layer of personalization and convenience to the driving experience.

Seat comfort is a first priority in the E-3008, with standard seat heating across every single trim level. The front seats have gotten the AGR (Aktion fur Gesunder Rucken) designation from the German association of Doctors and therapists, known for their research and prevention efforts related to back pain.

Additionally, front seats can be optionally equipped with ventilation, a massage function, and adaptive side bolsters that adjust to the passenger’s size for optimal comfort.

The Peugeot E-3008 is planned considering reasonableness. It offers a trunk volume of 470 liters in the all-wheel drive form and 520 liters in the front-wheel drive variation. Besides, the interior boasts a total of 17 different storage compartments scattered throughout, adding up to 34 liters of additional storage space.

The third-generation compact crossover will be manufactured at the Stellantis factory in Sochaux, France, where the battery packs are also assembled. Deliveries of the E-3008 are expected to commence in Europe and other markets by the end of the year.
