Two new oxygen generation plants were made functional at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.
The two new oxygen plants will generate 200 jumbo oxygen cylinders daily.
He said the rest of oxygen equivalent to 60-70 jumbo cylinders will be kept on reserve in case of increase in demand at AMCH.
“We are also planning to set up another oxygen plant in AMCH. If we can set up another plant at AMCH then there will be no shortages of oxygen in the district and we can also meet the demand if necessary,” Kakati added.
The construction of the oxygen plants was started in October 2020 under the aegis of the central government and supervision of the Assam government.
