HOW TWINKLE KHANNA USES ORANGE PEELS

Twinkle Khanna, who often shares inspirational posts on Instagram, shared one on sustainability this time. She wrote about recycling orange peels along with a picture of herself holding orange slices in front of her eyes.

Twinkle wrote, “A secret-I eat citrus peels as well, orange peels have more fibre than the fleshy fruit. I add the powdered rinds to my garden patch, and sometimes use it as a body scrub. Think of clever ways you repurpose mundane things and jot them down in the comments below. #AnIdeaADayKeepsTheBrainTickingAway #repurposing (sic).”

FANS RESPOND TO TWINKLE’S REQUEST

Many of Twinkle Khanna’s followers took to the comments section of her post and wrote how they repurpose things that people usually discard. One person wrote, “1. I use the used filter coffee grind as body scrubs. 2. most vegetable peels can be made into fritters, chutneys and bharta like that of Potato, Lauki, Parwal, Raw Banana etc to name a few and 3. those peels that can’t be eaten can be used in making vegetable stock 4. Cucumber Peels can be used in skin care as a pack when ground with milk (sic).” Another comment read, “I take the roots of strawberries and boil them in my tea as a sugar replacement (sic).”

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar got married on January 17, 2001. Their son Aarav was born in 2002 and the couple welcomed their daughter Nitara in 2012. Twinkle was last seen on the big screen in Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega in 2001.She is now an established author with her books Mrs Funnybones and The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad being bestsellers.
