As Hollywood legend Betty White turned 99 today, her former co-star Ryan Reynolds carried forward their playful feud.
Taking to his Instagram handle, the actor shared a throwback clip from the sets of their 2009 movie ‘The Proposal’ that saw them swinging nasty jibes, abuses and lewd gestures, but all in good humour. “We made this 12 years ago. Betty turns 99 today. But she is the funniest person on the planet,” Ryan wrote in his post.
Betty proved just why she is the queen of comedy when she managed to keep a straight face while Ryan called her a ‘seething demon’, and even flipped him the finger as she went to Bullock for ‘comforting’.
White played Reynolds’ grandmother in the 2009 romantic comedy that saw him starring opposite Bullock. The film revolves around a high-profile book editor (Bullock) who decides to marry her assistant (Reynolds) so she doesn’t get deported to Canada.
The birthday girl marked her birthday by announcing that her hit 1971 animal-friendly talk show would be re-releasing.
She wrote: ‘Would you believe it?! It’s my 99th birthday which means I can stay up as late as I want without asking. I am also very pleased to let you know about the re-release of my long-lost series after fifty years! I am just so proud of the ‘Pet Set’. I hope everyone is well and staying safe. We will get through this.’
