OnePlus Co-founder’s ‘Nothing’ buys Android Co-founder’s phone brand

OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei’s new technology company ‘Nothing’ has become the sole owner of the one-time smartphone brand ‘Essential’ launched by Android Co-founder Andy Rubin, 9to5Google reported citing official filings. Essential launched a minimalistic smartphone in 2017 and in February 2020, the company announced it is shutting down. Carl Pei left OnePlus in October 2020 to start ‘Nothing’.
