OnePlus is ready for the global launch of its smartphones, the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, scheduled for January 23, 2024. While the OnePlus 12 has already made its debut in China, the OnePlus 12R, is a more affordable option, was recently announced as the global version of the OnePlus Ace 3.

Display
The OnePlus 12R is set to feature a cutting-edge display, incorporating advanced LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) technology.
What sets it apart is the utilization of the fourth generation of LTPO, allowing for dynamic refresh rate adjustments, ranging from 90Hz to 120Hz.
This feature enhances both visual performance and power efficiency, promising an optimal viewing experience for users.
The display is confirmed to be a 6.7-inch curved-edge OLED ProXDR panel, has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution.
With a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, the phone deliver visuals across various applications, from still images to videos and games.
Performance
Powering the OnePlus 12R is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, addressing a balance between performance and affordability.
While it may not have the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in its flagship counterpart, the OnePlus 12, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 remains a capable processor, ensuring smooth operation and responsiveness.

Battery
One of the features is its battery capacity, a 5,500mAh. This power reservoir is designed to cater to users with extensive usage patterns, particularly those who indulge in gaming.
The inclusion of Supervooc fast charging ensures that the device can be replenished, convenience for users on the go.
The OnePlus introduces Battery Health Engine technology, a feature to maintaining the battery’s longevity. More details about this technology are expected to be unveiled during the official launch event.
Camera
The camera setup on the OnePlus 12R is to offer a photography experience. According to recent leaks and announcements, the rear camera array includes a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, supported by an 8MP ultrawide lens and either a 32MP 2x telephoto or a 2MP macro lens.
While not reaching the heights of the flagship OnePlus 12, the camera system has versatility and performance in various shooting scenarios.

Design
The official images of the OnePlus 12R showcase two color options: Cool Blue and Iron Gray. The Cool Blue variant features a frosted glass texture on the back, while the Iron Gray variant sports a matte finish.
Both variants maintain a metallic frame and house the iconic Alert Slider, albeit in a new location on the left-hand edge.
Three storage variants are expected for the phone, catering to different user preferences. These include a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant, and a top-tier 16GB RAM + 1TB storage option.
Pricing
OnePlus has confirmed that the phone will be launched globally, making its availability in North America, Europe, and other parts of the world.
While the pricing details are yet to be officially disclosed, industry experts speculate that the OnePlus 12R’s cost could be positioned under the $600 bracket.
This pricing strategy aims to make the device an option for consumers seeking flagship features at a more accessible price point.
