Naseeruddin Shah is doing well, to be discharged from the hospital on July 2

Naseeruddin Shah, who was hospitalised on June 29 because of pneumonia, is doing well. His doctors are optimistic about discharging him on Friday, July 2.

Naseeruddin Shah, who is undergoing treatment for pneumonia at Hinduja Hospital in Khar, Mumbai, is doing well. The veteran was hospitalised on June 29 and according to his recent health update, he is stable and likely to be discharged on Friday, July 2.


A small patch was found in Naseeruddin Shah’s lungs after which, it became necessary to hospitalise him. His manager has confirmed that the actor is stable and responding well to the treatment on Wednesday, June 30.

Now, his secretary Jairaj has said that the 70-year-old actor is doing well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon. He told PTI, “He is doing well. He might be discharged tomorrow.”


Naseeruddin Shah’s wife Ratna Pathak Shah told PTI on Wednesday that the actor is responding well to the treatment. She said, “Yes, he has a small patch and all is under control. He is responding well to treatment, so hope he’ll be discharged soon.”


Naseeruddin Shah is a celebrated actor in Bollywood. He has contributed towards theatre, television and cinema. His popular films are Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Ijaaza, Mohra, Ishqiya and Masoom, among many others. He has been honoured with the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

In 2020, his web series Bandish Bandits was released and it received much success. The show is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Naseeruddin Shah’s last release was Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, which started streaming on Netflix earlier this year.
