Kareena Kapoor celebrates 21 years in Bollywood with BTS clip of debut film Refugee

Kareena Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with the 2000 film, Refugee. The actress clocked in 21 years in the Hindi film industry, yesterday (June 30).

21 years ago, Bollywood was blessed with one of the most talented and versatile actors, Kareena Kapoor. The actress made her debut with Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Refugee, which was released 21 years ago. To celebrate the big day, Kareena shared some behind-the-scene moments from the film and penned a heartfelt note.

KAREENA KAPOOR CELEBRATES 21 YEARS IN BOLLYWOOD

Kareena, who is eagerly waiting for the release of her next film Laal Singh Chaddha, took to Instagram to remember her debut film, Refugee. The film released on June 30, 2000. To mark the big day, Kareena shared a slew of photos with co-star Abhishek. We also spotted Refugee director JP Dutta in one of the snaps.

Sharing the BTS photos, Kareena shared a thank-you note and wrote that she is grateful and ready for 21 more years in Bollywood.

“21 years…Grateful, happy, blessed, motivated, passionate… 21 more to go… I’m ready…Thank you to everyone for the continuous love and support (sic),” she wrote along with the video.

Many celebs reacted to Kareena’s post. While best friend Amrita Arora commented with heart emojis, singer Neeti Mohan remembered watching the first-day first-show of Refugee.

“I remember watching Refugee – First day First show (sic),” read her comment on the post.

Saif Ali Khan’s sister Saba Pataudi also commented on the video and wrote, “Proud of my sis in law (sic).”

ABOUT REFUGEE

Released in 2000, Refugee marked the debut of two big Bollywood stars, Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan. While Kareena played the role of a Pakistani girl, Abhishek played the role of a man who helped Indian and Pakistani refugees cross the border. The love story was much appreciated and well-received by the audience. The film was directed by JP Dutta.

The film also featured Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Reena Roy, among others
