IPL 2021: MS Dhoni to lead Chennai Super Kings’ 1st training camp for new season from March 9

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni will lead the team in this season’s first training camp which is set to begin on March 9 in the lead-up to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. MS Dhoni will be in Chennai along with domestic players who will be available to turn up for the CSK camp.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that team’s first training camp of the season is likely to get underway from March 9, adding the players who are available would take part in it.

“Yeah…the camp is likely to start from March 9. Whoever is available would take part in the training sessions,” he told PTI. “The players will undergo five-day quarantine before they start training. Also, they will have to return three negative tests…,” he added.

The Indian players in the CSK will be a part of the camp, he said, adding they would be arriving in batches. Even as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to confirm the schedule and venue details for IPL 2021 in the wake of the pandemic, CSK, it seems, wants to get into the groove.

CSK spent big on getting Moeen Ali on the board while off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham got a big contract from Dhoni’s 3-time champions.
