Senthilkumar, a youth from Vadamadurai, Dindigul district, was allegedly threatened with a knife at a festival in the same town in 2010. Following this, the police took Senthilkumar and his brother for interrogation and they were allegedly severely beaten.
Following this, Senthilkumar, who was taken for interrogation, died. Senthilkumar’s brother had lodged a complaint in this regard in 2014. Transferred to trial. Based on this investigation, the CPCID has registered a case against Thirumalai Muthuchamy, a pro-investigator who worked at the police station, and two policemen, Ponram and Ravichandran. The police filed a case.
The case is being heard in the Dindigul District Additional Magistrate’s Court. Accordingly, the pro-investigator and the Chief Constable were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment each, the probation officer Thirumalai Muthuchamy to Rs. 6,000 and the two Chief Constables Ponram.
