is big business, with fans of teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers putting billions of dollars on the line every year.
In Washington D.C. alone there was more than $18.5 Million worth of bets handled in October of 2020, the biggest month of betting since it became legal in the district in May of last year.
Per SportsBettingDime, there are bills on the table in the state that, with any luck, will be put into effect later this year. And since the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act was repealed in 2018, more than half the states in this country have legalized sports betting.
Currently, Florida has a bill waiting to be discussed and if passed it would allow fans to bet on sports later this year. Even California is considering it, though I suspect they may find it could cause *cancer.
Of course, if you live in one of the states where sports betting is already legal, you’re all set to wager responsibly. If not, then keep your ear peeled to sources and take a gander at some potential bets you might be able to make in a couple of months – all Buccaneers related, of course.

Tom Brady: 4,695-yards passing | 35.5 passing touchdowns | 8.5 interceptions
Rushing Yards: Ronald Jones II o/u 874.5 | Leonard Fournette o/u 735.5
Receiving Yards: Mike Evans o/u 1,129.5 | Chris Godwin o/u 1,099.5 | Antonio Brown o/u 687.5 | Rob Gronkowski o/u 582.5
Receiving Touchdowns: Evans o/u 9 | Godwin o/u 8 | Gronk o/u 5.5
I’m going to pick my favorite, which is Mike Evans’ yards receiving total. I’m looking for the Bucs’ star to make his record-setting streak of seven straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons to start an NFL career a little longer. Making it harder to catch or surpass for future players.
As attractive as record-setting stats can be, if Brady or the running back eclipse any of their o/u marks (except for the interceptions, of course) then the Buccaneers should be in pretty good shape when the playoff push comes around.
Honestly, if you told me you went with the over on all of these, I wouldn’t call you crazy. Bold, maybe. Not crazy though.
Which o/u is your favorite? And be sure to vote on my choice as well!
