Top ULFA-I leader Jibon Moran was taken into custody and brought to Dibrugarh police station for interrogation on Wednesday, following his capture by the Indian Army.
Dibrugarh SP Preetak Kumar Thube said, “We brought Punakanta alias Binod alias Jibon Moran to Dibrugarh police station on Thursday evening with the combined effort of Assam police and Indian Army. Right now we cannot say anything because interrogation is going on. What legal action we going to take against him will be briefed shortly>”
Moran was tested for COVID, and his health condition was examined before being brought to the police station, Thube informed.
It may be mentioned that on Wednesday, the Indian Army had taken Moran under their custody after he had entered the Indian border at Lazo village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
