GUWAHATI: A massive quake hit Assam and adjoining areas on Wednesday morning. According to the Met department, the earthquake measured 6.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was Sonitpur. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi speaking to Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonwal he said, “Spoke to Assam CM Shri @sarbanandsonwal Ji regarding the earthquake in parts of the state. Assured all possible help from the Centre. I pray for the well-being of the people of Assam.” It measured 3.2 on the Richter scale. According to reports, the earthquake claimed the life of a 70-year-old man in Chandrapur in the outskirts of Guwahati.
