The star feature of this iphone is the Apple Intelligence system designed specifically to harness the power of generative AI.

Siri’s language processing has been improved, allowing it to better understand and respond to complex commands. Siri now provides a more natural interaction experience, following context from one query to the next, even when users stumble over their words.

Apple Intelligence provides tools to generate, rewrite and summarize text across apps, both on Apple’s own platforms and third-party apps.

Image Playground, this new feature allows users to create generative AI images with playful elements. It can be used as a standalone app or integrated into other apps like Messages. By typing text prompts, users can create personalized emojis.

The iPhone includes AI-enabled features that provide real-time details about real-world objects. By pressing and holding the Camera Control button, users can access detailed information about locations such as business hours or reviews for restaurants or identify objects like dog breeds.

While iPhone 16 is the flagship model for Apple Intelligence, these features will also be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as well as on iPads and Macs equipped with the M1 chip or later.

Users will have to wait until October 2024 for these features to be enabled via the iOS 18.1 update. Apple Intelligence will be available only in US English with support for more English dialects in countries like Australia, Canada and the UK coming in December 2024. Further language support including Spanish, Chinese, French and Japanese is scheduled for 2025.

The iPhone is powered by the A18 chip, which provides a 30% performance boost over the A17 chip in the iPhone 15.

The 48-megapixel camera main camera delivers incredibly high-resolution photos. Ultrawide camera Offers greater flexibility for wide-angle shots.

Redesigned Photo App integrated with AI-enabled features for enhanced photo editing and manipulation. In addition to these upgrades, this iPhone introduces a Camera Control button, a physical button that allows users to instantly launch the camera app, take photos or record videos. Sliding a finger along this button opens up additional camera controls and framing options.

Apple has also revamped the internal design, which now houses a larger battery. This leads to a huge improvement in battery life. iPhone 16 will have up to 22 hours of video playback. iPhone 16 Pro Max will have up to 33 hours.

The theme of the event was “It’s Glowtime,” was a nod to Siri’s new visual interface. When activated, Siri will now emit an elegant glowing light around the screen’s edge, offering a modern look as it processes voice commands.

Apple shows the new recording capabilities of the iPhone 16 Pro by showing a behind-the-scenes look at the music video for The Weeknd’s upcoming single, Dancing in the Flames.

The video, shot entirely on the Pro shows the phone’s ability to record in 4K Dolby Vision at up to 120 frames per second, which is perfect for capturing high-quality slow-motion footage.

In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple unveiled several other products each with its own set of new features.

Apple Watch Series 10 starting at $399, this is Apple’s slimmest smartwatch to date. It includes new depth and water-temperature sensors and is set to launch alongside the iPhone 16 on September 20, 2024.

AirPods 4 priced at $129, the latest version of AirPods delivers improved bass, crystal-clear highs and personalized spatial audio. There’s also a model with active noise cancellation for $179. These are set to launch on the same date as the iPhone 16.

AirPods Pro 2, the AirPods Pro now come with health-focused features including hearing aid mode and personalized hearing tests, pending regulatory approval.

While Apple’s stock has soared due to the generative AI boom, the company faces a global slowdown in smartphone sales.

Apple is contending with a Department of Justice antitrust lawsuit, which accuses the company of maintaining an illegal monopoly in the smartphone market.

Although Apple has rejected these allegations, the case could drag on for years.
