Alia Bhatt tests Covid negative after Ranbir Kapoor’s diagnosis: Report

Alia Bhatt has tested negative for coronavirus, reports ETimes. The actress is taking a Covid-19 test nearly every day and her report turned out to be negative today (March 9). A source told ETimes that despite testing negative, the actress has isolated herself. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is directing Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, has also tested positive for Covid-19, reports say.


“Alia takes the test nearly every day and today also she has tested negative but has still isolated herself. Ranbir Kapoor caught the virus on the sets of Brahmastra and is recovering currently,” the source said. Alia and Ranbir will be sharing screen space for the first time in Brahmastra. As per reports, love blossomed between the two on the sets of the film.

Brahmastra, helmed by Ayan Mukerji, also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. The release date of the film is yet to be announced as it was delayed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.


Earlier today, Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram and confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for coronavirus. She wrote, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self quarantine at home and following all precautions (sic).”

Before Ranbir, Neetu Kapoor had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The actress had contracted the virus when she was shooting for her upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo in December last year. She recovered within days and tested negative.
