Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist was brutally murdered by her husband, Thomas, in February 2024. The case involves details of strangulation, dismemberment and the macabre use of a blender to puree the body.

Kristina Joksimovic was a Swiss national with Serbian heritage who first gained public attention as a model. Born in Binningen, a small town near Basel, Switzerland, Kristina pursued a career in modeling and participated in various beauty pageants.
She won the title of Miss Northwest Switzerland in 2003 and in 2007 and she reached the finals of the Miss Switzerland competition.
Kristina Joksimovic transitioned to a more entrepreneurial role. She ran her own business as a catwalk coach, mentoring aspiring models and even provided guidance to Miss Universe contestant Dominique Rinderknecht in 2013.
In addition to her modeling career, she was involved in IT recruitment, where she combined her expertise in professional presence and personal growth coaching.
Kristina Joksimovic and Thomas married in 2017 and appeared, on the surface, to live a successful and happy life. The couple shared two children and maintained a luxurious lifestyle.
Behind the glamorous facade, their relationship was fraught with problems. According to reports, friends of the couple revealed that the marriage had been in crisis for months leading up to Kristina Joksimovic’s murder.
Police had also been called to their home on prior occasions due to allegations of domestic violence. Thomas had a history of violent behavior toward Kristina.
He had reportedly strangled her on a previous occasion and one of his former partners had claimed that he had slammed Kristina’s head into a wall.
On February 13, 2024, the dismembered body of Kristina Joksimovic was found in the laundry room of her home in Binningen, Switzerland, by a third party.
Authorities were immediately alerted and an investigation began. Thomas was arrested the day after the gruesome discovery. He claimed to have found Kristina Joksimovic dead and admitted to dismembering her body in a panic.
However, during a crime reconstruction in March, Thomas confessed to the murder, admitting that he had strangled his wife to death.
The autopsy report provided details about Kristina Joksimovic’s death. She had been strangled, and her body was dismembered using a jigsaw, knife and garden shears.
Even more disturbingly, Thomas then chopped her remains using a hand blender, pureeing parts of her body before dissolving them in a chemical solution. The brutality and cold-bloodedness of the crime left investigators and the public horrified.
Thomas attempted to justify his actions by claiming that he had acted in self-defense. According to his version of events, Kristina Joksimovic had attacked him with a knife and in the ensuing struggle, he had killed her. Forensic and medical reports contradicted this narrative.

Autopsy results and other forensic evidence suggested that Kristina Joksimovic had been overpowered and strangled without any sign of a violent altercation or self-defense.
Investigators also said that Thomas had shown a calculated and methodical approach to the crime.
Throughout the investigation it became apparent that Thomas exhibited concerning mental health issues. Experts reported concrete indications of mental illness and said that he displayed sadistic tendencies.
Additionally, investigators observed a high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness” in Thomas’s actions.
After his confession and the discovery of Kristina Joksimovic’s dismembered body, Thomas was formally arrested and charged with murder. The investigation focused on reconstructing the events leading up to the crime, as well as examining Thomas’ psychological state.
On September 11, 2024, the Federal Supreme Court in Lausanne rejected Thomas’s appeal for release from custody. Citing his confession, the brutal nature of the crime and his mental state.
Forensic experts determined that Kristina Joksimovic had been strangled before she died, contradicting her husband’s claim of self-defense. There were no signs of injuries on Thomas that would have supported his version of events.
The autopsy revealed that Thomas dismembered Kristina Joksimovic’s body using a jigsaw, knife and garden shears. He then proceeded to chop her remains with a hand blender, pureeing the body parts and dissolving them in a chemical solution.
While some friends of the couple described their relationship as idyllic, stating they seemed like the perfect family, other reports revealed that the marriage had been in crisis for months.
Police had reportedly been called to their home previously due to physical altercations. Additionally, Kristina Joksimovic’s husband had allegedly exhibited violent behavior before, including a disturbing incident where he strangled a previous partner and slammed her head into a wall.
