Maharashtra reports 27,918 new COVID-19 cases, 139 deaths 

Maharashtra today reported 27,918 new cases and 139 deaths, according to the update released by the state government. A total of 23,820 patients discharged today; 23,77,127 COVID-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today. The recovery rate in the state is at 85.71 percent. Fatality rate in the state stands at 1.96 percent. Out of 1,96,25,065 laboratory samples, 27,73,436 have been tested positive (14.13%) for COVID-19 until today. Currently 16,56,697 people are in home quarantine and 17,649 people are in institutional quarantine.

Mumbai reports 4,758 COVID-19 cases; doubling rate now 50 daysMumbai on Tuesday reported 4,758 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally of infections to 4,09,320, the city civic body said, adding that the doubling rate of cases in the city has worsened to 50 days. With 10 patients succumbing to the COVID-19 infection, the toll in the megapolis mounted to 11,671, a civic official said, adding that the city has witnessed 71 casualties since March 23. As per a report prepared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the doubling rate of cases in the city has worsened from 90 days recorded a week ago to the current 50 days.
